For parents and contributors

If another parent has sent you a link to a teacher collection, this page explains what it is, how contributing works, and what to look for before you add anything.

Who it is for

Thank the Teacher is designed for private collections shared between parents, families and people connected to the teacher or organiser. It is not public fundraising and it is not charity fundraising — there is no public collection search and no way to browse other people’s collections.

How to contribute

  • Open the private link the organiser sent you.
  • Choose the amount you would like to give — any amount is welcome.
  • Add a short message for the teacher if you would like to.
  • Pay securely. You do not need to create an account to contribute.

Your contribution goes towards the single gift for the teacher named on the collection. Individual amounts are not put on display for other parents to see.

Before you contribute

If you receive a contribution link, please make sure you recognise the organiser, teacher, class or group before making a payment.

If anything looks unfamiliar or unexpected, do not contribute and contact us first. We would always rather answer a question than have someone pay into something they were not sure about.

What happens next

When the organiser closes the collection, the total is redeemed as an M&S gift card for the teacher, and the messages from the class are kept together so they can be given alongside it. You can read the full journey on how it works, or browse our FAQs.
